Oakville's tap water comes from Halton Region's lake-based system, treated at the Oakville plant on Kerr Street and the Burloak plant on Rebecca Street. Halton's 2025 averages put Oakville's hardness at 124 mg/L. Over the years that leaves scale in a tank and on the heat exchanger of a tankless heater, which is why our tankless rentals include a yearly descaling flush.

Four in five Oakville homes (80%) are detached, semi-detached or row houses. In a house with a ducted furnace, a central heat pump can take the air conditioner's place: it cools all summer, heats through spring, fall and much of the winter, and hands over to the gas furnace on the coldest days. Central systems cost from $4,500 installed, and renting one is $54.95 monthly. A basement suite, sunroom or room over the garage can have its own ductless unit from $2,800.
