๐ Call (647) 677-0037A mini-split has an outdoor unit and one or more slim indoor units mounted high on the wall. A small refrigerant line runs between them through a small opening in the wall, so there is no ductwork to build.
Each indoor unit has its own remote, so every room or zone runs at its own temperature. Mini-splits are heat pumps, so the same units cool in July and heat in January.
Typical installed prices by home size. One room usually sits at the low end, and a whole home with several indoor units sits higher. The three columns are our three equipment levels: standard, high efficiency (-25ยฐC rated) and premium.

Many Brampton homes have a basement apartment, and sharing one furnace and thermostat between two households rarely keeps both comfortable. A mini-split gives the basement unit its own heating and cooling with its own remote, so the people upstairs and downstairs each set their own temperature. It also helps basements that stay cold in winter and damp in summer, because the indoor unit pulls moisture out of the air while it cools.
Baseboard heaters turn each kilowatt-hour of electricity into the same amount of heat. A mini-split moves heat in from outdoors instead, so it delivers more heat for each kilowatt-hour through most of a Brampton winter, and it cools in summer too. That makes it a common upgrade for additions, finished basements and garage conversions that were wired for baseboards. Many owners keep a baseboard or two in place as backup for the coldest nights.
We install Gree and Daikin ductless systems, and we repair mini-splits of every make, including units we didn't install. See heat pump and mini-split repair.
